Learned These When Google Adsense Employee (PhD) Spills Beans
"File Names"
Oddly enough, if you change around what you name your files, and what directories they are in, the subject of the Google Adsense ads can easily shift around. This is likely another easy to implement and good Google Adsense secret not to look over. Make a sub directory or two under your main .com domain and title each of those your keywords and have all your files in there. And for the .html files make sure they each are titled with the keyword that the page is optimized for. So here’s an example,
www.main_keyword.com/main_keyword_2/main_keyword_3/keyword_page_optimized_for.html

"Title and Heading"
Same as above, make sure the title of each page includes your main keyword as well as the keyword the current page is optimized for. Not only does this title come up in search engines and is what people click on to visit your site, Google Adsense uses it to add even more keyword relevancy for their Adsense ads. Also make sure you use headings in the content. This will help you define sections in your content so it will make it easier to read, but once again Google Adsense also picks up on what you use in the headings. What is between those heading tags will be emphasized more so by the Google Adsense spider than what is in the content, so make sure to drop in a few of these:
keyword inclusive title
"Meta Tags"
These aren’t what they used to be back in the Web 1.0 days. Now, Google Adsense, Google.com search, and most search engines don’t rely on them as much. I would include them as a small precaution just incase some search engine does use them, but don’t plan on them being overly helpful. People in the past have just placed massive amounts of keywords into the meta keyword and meta description tags to a point where search engines decided not to go by what the keyword spammers were putting in the tags. Google Adsense also primarily disregards what is inside the tags.
"Placement of Keywords"
Little is known how keyword placement affects Google Adsense ads, however, some results have come up repeatedly enough that they are worthwhile to be called Google Adsense secrets. We’ve already mentioned that placing keywords in headings with
"URL Blocking"
Just in case competitors of your website are coming up on your Google Adsense ads, Google gives you the option of stopping those particular Adwords advertisements from being displayed in your Adsense ad boxes. You can go into your Adsense control panel/main page and just type in the URLs that you don’t want showing up on your website anymore. Some people have found a sneaky little way to make this option a little more profitable for them. I’d easily call this a Google Adsense secret since I don’t think I ever would have thought of it if someone hadn’t mentioned it to me. And what makes it worse is that it’s pretty obvious! Basically you just block URLs of sites advertising with low paying keywords. If for example you had to use some keywords to describe the content in your site, but you know those keywords won’t be bringing in lots of money any time soon, simply block. Save that precious Google Adsense ad space for websites and blogs that will be paying more for their keywords. It will take some time figuring out which keywords and URLs aren’t that hot, but if you can manage to figure that stuff out it helps a pretty good amount.
"More Pages"This Adsense secret is obvious, the more pages with Google Adsense ads that you have, the more likely you are to get clicks. It’s basically improving your odds. But just having those pages isn’t enough; two other things must also be done as well. To have Adsense ads you need content, that’s the first part, and the second is that you will need to send traffic to those pages. Content, well that’s self-explanatory, either write it, buy it, copy it, etc. Getting traffic from search engines requires submitting and waiting. "Rank Higher"
If you rank higher on Google’s search engine, the amount of money you receive per click will be higher than a lower ranking Adsense website. How exactly this works we aren’t sure, but we definitely know that different Google Adsense websites will not always be paid the same amount, even if a surfer clicks on the same exact Adsense ad on both sites! As you know Google’s search ranks more relevant, higher quality, and more linked to pages higher in the search rankings, perhaps they think that people who make clicks from those websites are a much better customer base for the Google Adwords advertisers. Who knows, but just don’t forget about getting search engine rankings up, because even if your click through ratios stay the same, revenue per click can make a difference.
